In the 17th century, she was known for her detailed still lifes, especially of food and silverware. She was one of the first female artists to sign her work, which was very unusual at the time. Clara Peeters broke through at a time when women were rarely recognized as artists. Her work shows that perseverance and skill can break barriers and continues to inspire women today.
